SECTION 4 BASKETBALL: SECTIONAL BRACKETS SET AS THEY BEGIN THIS WEEK (February 22, 2026)

The sectional basketball playoffs are set as they kick off this week for both boys and girls. 

For the boys in Class AAA Elmira is the third seed and they are at No. 2 Ithaca at 6 p.m. on Feb. 28.

Corning is the top seed. They face the winner of Elmira and Ithaca at 7:45 p.m. on March 6 at Watkins Glen. 

Notre Dame is the top seed in Class C. They have a bye in the opening round and at 6 p.m. on Feb. 28 they host the winner of No. 8 Marathon and and No. 9 Oxford. 

On the girls side Elmira is the top seed and Corning is the second seed. They meet at 6 p.m. on March 6 at Watkins Glen. 

Horseheads is the top seed in AA. They host the winner of No. 2 Vestal and No. 3 U-E at 5 p.m. on March 8 at Visions Arena in Binghamton. 

In Class C Notre Dame is the sixth seed. They host No. 11 Marathon at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the opening round.
