STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: ELMIRA RALLIES, THEN HOLDS OFF WAVERLY (17 PHOTOS)(February 18, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report WAVERLY — The Edison girls’ basketball team wrapped up the regular season by edging Waverly 55-53 on Tuesday night.
Waverly led 13-12 after one quarter and 28-22 at the half.
Elmira outscored Waverly 21-5 in the third to lead 43-33, before holding off Waverly down the stretch.
Mariah Matias had 18 points for Elmira and Meya Smith had 15.
Kayvonna King finished with 12 points for the Epress and Ava Roberts finished with six points.
Lizzy Hunter and Zy Cade each finished with two points in the game.
