SECTION 4 BOYS' SWIMMING & DIVING: CORNING CAPTURES SECTION 4, CLASS A TITLE (February 15, 2026)

WATKINS GLEN — The Corning Hawks boys’ swimming and diving team brought home the Class A Section IV Championship over the weekend.

Corning won at 446 with Ithaca second at 404. Horseheads was fourth at 283 and Elmira was sixth at 133. 

JP Sierzant won the 50 and 100 frees, both in state cut times, and Joey Crisco won both the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke in state cut times. 

Thang Tran of Horseheads made states by winning the 100 fly. 

Corning took second in the 200 medley relay in 1:40.68 followed by Horseheads in 1:43.99 and Elmira was sixth at 1:56.38.

In the 200 free Corning’s Keith Huff was third in 1:49.74 and Horseheads’ Joe Wood was fifth in 1:53.96, while Kyle Williams ofCorning was seventh in 1:59.57. 

Crisco had a PR of 1:59.19 to win the 200 IM and MJ Carro of Horseheads was third in 2:09.59. Corning’s Kaeden Martinez was fifth in 2:14.22 followed by teammate Derek Guo in 2:15.06.

Sierzant won the 50 free in 21.89 and teammate Owen VanGorden was sixth in 24.44. 

Tran won the 100 fly in 52.38 to make states. It was a PR and a 2.80 second improvement from his seed time. Corning’s John McKane was third in 54.79 followed by teammate Shawn De Pedro in 54.79.

Sierzant won the 100 free in 48.62 and VanGorden was fifth in 55.24 with Keegan Duart of Horseheads seventh in 56.30.

Huff was second in the 500 free in 5:03.54 followed by Horseheads’ Joe Wood in 5:06.94. 

Crisco, Guo, Zierzant and Huff won the 200 free relay in 1:31.56 with Horseheads third in 1:38.75 and Elmira was seenth in 1:55.66. 

Tran won the 100 back in 54.86 and Carr was third in 57.48 followed by McKane (57.62) and Williams (59.96). Martinez was eighth in 1:00.41. 

Crisco won the 100 breaststroke in 59.45 and De Pedro was third in 1:03.04 with Guo sixth in 1:09.18. Isaac Klesh of Horseheads was eighth in 1:11.69.

McKane, Huff, De Pedro and Crisco won the 400 free relay in 3:24.85 followed by Horseheads in 3:26.30 and Elmira was sixth in 3:54.44.
