SECTION 4 BOYS' WRESTLING: HORSEHEADS HAS SIX STATE QUALIFIERS, TAKES 2ND AT SECTIONALS (24 PHOTOS)(February 14, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report BINGHAMTON — Horseheads had six kids make states at the 2026 Section IV Championships on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders were runner-up at 204.5 points, with M-E winning at 260.
Josh Knapp was champion and Connor Mcallister was runner-up at 110.Knapp won 7-5 in the battle of teammates in the final as both made states.
Tanner Knapp won by major decision 8-0 over Larry Tull of M-E in the final.
Gavin Hornsby won the 132-pound title. He won by technical fall 15-0 over Reid Richardson of Maine-Endwell in the final.
Kole Zufall was second at 138 to make states. Jaxson Burchard made states with a runner-up finish to Griffin McQuade in the final, 11-7.
Zachary Schrage was ahead, when he was pinned by Albert Smith of M-E in the final in 4:52 to just miss states. Connor warrick just missed states, taking second at 215, with a 19-9 major decision loss to Landon Armstrong in the final.
