HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' BASKETBALL: CORNING GETS ROAD WIN TO MOVE TO 12-0 ON SEASON (January 23, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportWELLSVILLE — The Corning boys’ basketball team went on the road and picked up a 70-49 win at Wellsville to move to 12-0 on the year.
The Hawks are ranked 28th in the state in Class AAA.
Corning led 23-5 after one quarter and 47-17 at the half on their way to the win.
Nolyn Proudfoot had 22 points, eight rebounds, two steals and an assist in the win and Kohl Hogue had 16 points, four steals, two rebounds and two assists.
Kyler Stevenson had 13 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists and Arda Derman had six points and three rebounds.
Teigen Gill had four points, an assist and a rebound and Carter Proudfoot had three points, three rebounds and two steals.
Cooper Bange and Joe Fucito each had two points, with Fucito grabbing three rebonds.
Corning returns home Wednesday to play Ithaca in a STAC West clash with a varsity tip of 7:15 p.m. Corning has played 9 of its first 12 games this year on the road.
