STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: CHAR STARNS SCORES 25, BUT CORNING FALLS TO SV (January 22, 2026)

CORNING — Char Starns scored 25 points, but the Corning girls’ basketball team fell to Susquehanna Valley 56-43 on Friday.

Susquehanna Valley led 29-16 at the half and 46-21 after three quarters in the game.

Starns had three threes and was 4-for-5 from the free throw line. She had all seven of Corning’s points in the second quarter and her, and her sister Evelyn combined for all 22of the fourth-quarter points. Char had 12 in the fourth, with two threes, and Evelyn had 10 in the fourth, with two threes.

Evelyn Starns had 13 points in the game, with three threes. Deanna Shaddock had five points in the game.
