STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS WINS 4TH STRAIGHT STAC WEST TITLE (January 16, 2026)

HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads Blue Raiders girls’ basketball team topped Ithaca 77-40 on Friday to clinch their fourth straight STAC West title.

Horseheads is 10-1 on the year and ranked fourth in the state in Class AA. 

Horseheads had four players in double figures and got 36 bench points in the game.

Sam Bonnell had 14 points, while Maggie Tremaine and Lauren Kozemko each had 11 points.

Peyton Butts had 10 points and Giana Hughey finished with nine points. 

Lexi Lese and Mya Piecuch both had six points in the game and Maddie Ribble had four points.

Sadie Gustin and Ellie Jankowski each had three points in the game.
