STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: ELMIRA PICKS UP ROAD WIN AT ITHACA (January 10, 2026)

ITHACA — The Elmira girls’ basketball team picked up a 70-42 road win at Ithaca on Saturday afternoon. 

“We have had a couple of strong days of practice, and it is encouraging to see that work begin to translate to game situations as we contnue to clean up details on both ends of the floor.

“When we are balanced offensively and playing connected basketball, we can be a difficult team to play against. We are hopeful this performance is a positive indicator of continued progress.”

Mariah Mathias led Elmira with 20 points and Meya Smith had 17 points in the game.

Avery McCauley and ZyAsiha Cade each had seven points, while Ava Roberts finished with six points. 

Abigail Valicenti had five points and Tamiah Brown had four points. 

Kayvonna King and Anna Osborne both had two points in the game.
