STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HORSEHEADS PICKS UP HOME WIN OVER CORNING (18 PHOTOS)(January 9, 2026) Southern Tier Sports Report HORSEHEADS -- The Horseheads girls’ basketball team jumped out to a 37-12 lead at the half on their way to a 57-28 win over Corning on Friday night.
After a 15-9 lead after one quarter, the Blue Raiders outscored Corning 22-3 in the second quarter.
Sam Bonnell had 20 points one game after scoring a career-high 25 points.
Giana Hughey and Maddie Ribble each had nine points in the game for Horseheads and Maggie Tremaine finished with eight points.
Lexi Lese and Grace Cronin each had four points and Sadie Gustin finished with three points.
Char Starns led Corning with 10 points and Deanna Shaddock had six points.
