STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: BONNELL SCORES CAREER-HIGH 25 AS HORSEHEADS TOPS U-E (January 6, 2026)

ENDICOTT — Freshman Sam Bonnell had a career-high 25 points as the Horseheads girls’ basketball team beat Union-Endicott 59-36.

Bonnell added six assists and five steals and Giana Hughey had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

“Sam did a great job of knociing down open threes and attacking the rim,” Horseheads coach Andy Scott said. “The forwards did an outstanding job getting her open. 

“Complete team effort tonight. Ten girls scored and all 11 battled hard for 32 minutes. Kids played hard against a very talented UE squad.”

Mya Piecuch had six points for Horseheads and Peyton Butts finished with five points.

Maddie Ribble had four points and Lexi Lese had three points.

Maggie Tremaine and Sadie Gustin each finished with two points and Lauren Kozemko and Ellie Jankowski had one point each.
