STAC BOYS' BASKETBALL: CORNING DOWNS VESTAL TO MOVE TO 7-0 ON SEASON (January 6, 2026)
Southern Tier Sports ReportVESTAL — The Corning boys’ basketball moved to 7-0 on the year with a 71-48 victory over Vestal on Tuesday.
Corning jumped out to a 23-9 lead after one quarter on their way to the win.
Kyler Stevenson had 23 points and six boards, with a steal, for Corning and Nolyn Proudfoot had a double-double with 18 points, 10 boards, three assists and two steals, while Kohl Hogue had 16 points, five boards, four assists and a steal.
Carter Proudfoot had five points, two steals, two assists and a rebound and Joe Fucito, Teigen Gill and Dylan Brewster all had three points. Fucito had four rebounds and a steal and Brewster had a steal and two boards, while Gill had three steals, two rebounds and an assist.
Corning returns home on Friday with a 7:15 start against Horseheads. It will be the third annual Green Out game in support of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
