STAC GIRLS' BASKETBALL: ELMIRA PICKS UP WIN AT CHENANGO FORKS (January 5, 2026)

CHENANGO FORKS — The Elmira Express girls’ basketball team fell to Chenango Forks 68-42 in a STAC crossover game on Monday.

“This was a really strong team win and an excellent response after a challenging stretch,” Elmira coach A’Don Allen said. “We’ve played five games in 10 days against quality competition, and today’s performance showed the growth, resilience and togetherness of this group. 

“It was a complete team effort and a positive way to close out that stretch of games. With a few days off before our next matchup on Sunday, we’ll use this time to rest, reset and continue building as we head into the heart of our schedule.”

Ava Roberts led Elmira with 18 points and Mariah Matias finished with 15, while ZyAsiha Cade had 11 points and Meya Smith finished with 10 points. 

Anna Osborne had six points and Avery McCauley finished with three points. Kayvonna King and Abigail Valicenti had two opints each while Elizabeth Hunter added one point. 

Jordyn Erickson-Hrehor had 21 points for Chenango Forks.
