HIGH SCHOOL BOYS' BASKETBALL: CORNING ROLLS TO REGIONAL DIVISION 2 TITLE AT PALMER TOURNEY (24 PHOTOS)(December 30, 2025) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA — The Corning boys’ basketball team moved to 6-0 on the year as they topped Waverly 79-50 in the Josh Palmer Fund Holiday Classic Regional Division 2 Championship.
Nolyn Proudfoot had 24 points for Corning. He had a double-double adding 12 boards, with two assists and a steal.
Kohl Hogue and Carter Proudfoot each had 13 points in the game. Hogue had a double-double with 10 boards, adding five assists and a steal and Carter Proudfoot had three rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Kyler Stevenson had 10 points with five rebounds and two steals and Arda Derman had eight points, while Teigen Gill had seven points, five boards and an assist. Achille Gallois had four points.
Hogan Shaw led Waverly with 11 points. Peyton Robinson had nine points and Ben Shaw and Bryce Laforest had eight points each and Braiden Judson had five points.
Corning led 47-20 at the half on their way to the win. Nolyn Proudfoot had 13 of his points in the opening quarter as Corning, honorable mention in the state AAA rankings, never trailed in the game. ———— PHOTOS BY SHEILA SUTTON.
