HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: CORNING NOTCHES WIN OVER EDISON (December 28, 2025)

ELMIRA — The Corning girls’ basketball team picked up a 57-30 win over Edison in the Josh Palmer Fund Holiday Classic on Sunday.

Char Starns had 34 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots for Corning. She was 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the win.

Deanna Shaddock had seven points and six boards and Madi Henry had four points, while Kennedy Driscoll had three points.

Evelyn Starns and Socha Fuller each had two points in the game. 

Mali Huffner had 17 points for Edison and Matteson Brush finished with four points, while Adrianna Ruggiero had three points. 

Madelyn Morrison, Addison Vendzules and Mia Huffner all had two points for the Spartans.
