ELMIRA — The Notre Dame girls’ basketball team fell to Johnson City 61-40 in the opening game of the Josh Palmer Fund Holiday Classic.

Kalysta DeMark had 14 points and Payton Sutryk finished with 12 in the gae.

Johnson City got out to a 13-8 lead, but Notre Dame was down just 27-22 at the break. A 33-19 edge in the second half helped Johnson City pull away.

Aliya Hankey and Makenzie Lombardini each had 16 points for JC and Syncs Crampton had 10 points. 

Emily Coseo had seven points for the Crusaders and Maci McWhorter had three points, while Jhamariah Maxwell finished with two points.
