Southern Tier Sports ReportHORSEHEADS — The Horseheads boys’ wrestling team picked up a 52-28 home victory over Corning on Tuesday night.
Corning’s Carter Soltis won by fall in 1:40 over Trace Woodward at 103 and at 110 Josh Knapp of Horseheads pinned Shane Harlacker in 4:00, while at 118 Tanner Knapp of Horseheads pinned Daniel Bretch in 2:38.
Reese Mathew of Corning pinned Noah Miller in 2:52 at 126, before Horseheads’ Damian Saks pinned Caiden Zangerle in 3:52 at 132.
Horseheads’ Gavin Hornsby pinned Brodie O’Dell in 1:06 at 138 and at 144 Kole Zufall of Horseheads won 9-0 over Nicholas Woodcock.
Corning’s Blake Teeter pinned Trent Woodward in 5:18 at 150 and at 157 Keegan VanCise of Corning won by major decision 9-0 over Zachary McCormick.
Colton Graham of Corning pinned Wyatt Campbell in 2:33 at 165 and at 170 Zachary Schrage of Horseheads pinned Clayton Smith in 3:54.
Horseheads’ Jaxson Burchard (190) and Zachary Keiser (285) had forfeit wins and Connor Warrick pinned Colton Brooks of Corning in 52 seconds at 215.
