Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Elmira Express boys and girls bowling teams each swept their way past Corning at Crystal Lanes on Wednesday afternoon.
The boys was a matchup of the Express, who set the STAC record earlier this year, against the Hawks, who won the STAC preseason tournament.
Elmira’s boys shot 1,026, 993 and 1,105 for a 3,124, while Corning sho t883, 965 and 829 for a 2,677.
Alex Gublo led Elmira with a 175-207-264-646 and Peyton Rozelli shot 209-212-220-641.
Frankie D’Angelo shot 252-169-170-611 and Logan Card shot 193-203-210-606. Carter Gardner shot 197-202-399 and Landon Gardner shot 221.
Bentley Goodier shot 197-215-190-602 for Corning and Owen Watson shot 190-226-137-553, while Max Aponte shot 191-156-162-509.
Jack Dunning shot 149-170-187-506. Chase Kizis shot 198-153-351 and Keegan Prince shot 156 for one game.
On the girls side Elmira shot 808, 895 and 766 for a 2,469, while Corning shot 682, 747 and 688 for a 2,117.
The Express got a 209-204-168-581 from Maddi Smith and Maddy Wasicki shot 172-202-180-554. Abbi Hank shot 171-215-160-546 and Evaya Gardner shot 127-153-138-418, while Izzy Stanley shot 129-121-250 and Sloane Moss shot 120.
For JV Elmira won 4-1. They shot 780-699-810-2,349 and Corning shot 755-727-658-2,140.
Keegan Martin shot 181-181-208-570 to lead Elmira and Jaxon Brooks shot 174-138-226-538. Emmitt Miler shot 179-135-122-452 and Colten Bliss shot 158-113-171-443, while Greg Fish shot 87-132-127-346.
Blake Kizis led Corning with a 201-136-168-505 and Mason MacEwan shot 180-180-122-482. Hunter Akins shot 134-175-140-449, while Brad Bierwlier shot 137-110-127-374 and Noah Lyons shot 103-126-101-330.
