SECTION 4 BOYS' BASKETBALL: EDISON OPENS WIN WITH WIN AT LANSING TIP-OFF TOURNEY (December 5, 2025)
Southern Tier Sports ReportLANSING — The Edison boys’ basketball team opened the season with a 35-29 win over host Lansing at the Lansing Tip-Off Tournament on Friday.
“It was obviously not the prettiest offensive display of basketball, but we executed a few set plays late for huge buckets,” Edison coach Chris Mallette said. “The defense and hustle was tremendous all game. So proud of the guys. Lansing made a run late third into fourth quarter that we answered. Happy for the guys that they finished it off with the W.”
Edison trailed 7-4 after one quarter, but outscored Lansing 8-2 in the second to go up 12-9 at the half.
Lansing came back to go up 20-18 after three quarters, but Edison scored 17 fourth-quarter points in the win.
Jha’Zhere Muniz led Edison with 12 points and Marcquis Bradley Jr. had 10 points.
Connor Lasko had nine points and Bentley Stroman had three points, while Brenden Smith had a point.
Lasko had seven in the fourth quarter and Edison was 3-for-4 from the line down the stretch and had two fourth-quarter threes.
