EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL: EDISON FALLS BEHIND EARLY IN SECTIONAL SEMIFINAL LOSS (15 PHOTOS) (November 10, 2025)
Southern Tier Sports ReportDRYDEN — The Edison football team fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter and never fully recovered as they fell to Moravia 26-16 in the Section IV, 8-man football semifinals.
Noah Corbett scored both touchdowns for Moravia to start the game.
He had a 59-yard touchdown run just 2:28 into the game and Eli Landis hit Dillon Palmer on the two-point try.
Corbett then had a 31-yard touchdown run at 3:22 of the opening quarter and the two-point try failed.
Niko Cheplick got Edison on the board six seconds into the second quarter when he caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Jace Schiller. Greg Golden had the two-point run and Edison was within 14-8.
Moravia then scored the next 12 points in the final 1:15 of the half to go up 26-8 at the break. Corbett had this third touchdown of the game, catching a two-yard pass from Landis with 1:14 left in the half and then Landis had a 55-yard touchdown run with 10 seconds left in the half.
Golden had a one-yard run with 3:34 left in the third and he had the two-point run to get Edison within 26-16, but that’s how the game would end.
Schiller was 7-for-15 for 129 yards and a score for Edison and Golden ran for 108 yards on 17 carries. Schiller ran for 65 yards and Macquis Bradley Jr. ran for six yards.
Cheplick had three grabs for 56 yards and the score and Paxton Hoover had two grabs for 43 yards and Bradley Jr. had two catches for 30 yards.
Golden had eight tackles, and a tackle for a loss and Hoover had six tackles, while Bradley jr. had five tackles, and a tackle for a loss.
Ze’Quan Mosley had four tackles, two tackles for a loss and a sack.
Landis threw for 204 yards on 18-of-25 passing, with a touchdown and he ran for 87 yards on eight carries. Corbett ran for 103 yards and two scores on eight carries. Corbett also had five tackles for 72 yards and a score, Palmer had seven grabs for 57 yards and Jairen Francis had four catches for 53 yards.
