STSR PRESENTS THE DRAKE HVAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: ELMIRA'S COLON AND CORNING'S MARTINEC (2025-10-21)

There were a lot of great performances this week, leading to some tough choices for the first athlete of the week honors of the season. In the end, it was Corning’s Olivia Martinec and Elmira’s Julian Colon who were named the Southern Tier Sports Report, sponsored by Drake HVAC Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Athletes of the Week.

Elmira, football
Had three touchdowns as Elmira picked up a win over Corning on Friday night, 34-8.

Colon had two touchdowns of over 40 yards on the day, including an 82-yard catch. He had three catches for 143 yards and also ran for 23 yards.

OLIVIA MARTINEC
Corning, football
Won the Marathon Invite with a time of 19:30.90. Helped lead the Hawks to the team title.
