STAC CHEERLEADING: HORSEHEADS WINS STAC CHAMPIONSHIP (24 PHOTOS) (2025-10-19)

CHENANGO VALLEY — The Horseheads Blue Raiders captured the STAC Championship on Sunday afternoon at Chenango Valley High School.

The Blue Raiders posted a big score of over 97 on the day, to edge Union-Endicott, who took second. Chenango Valley finished third.

“The score is unreal,” Charlie Bourgeois said. “That score was the highest we have had in our Horseheads career.”

In the JV division the Blue Raiders took third with Union-Endicott winning.

“The score is so high, it’s crazy,” Andrea Benjamin said. “Cheering each other on, we knew it was our time.”

Just being the top seed for STAC was special enough, and now that they won this it’s time to prepare for sectionals.

“First that felt crazy in itself being the top seed,” Serenity Jefferson said. “That’s rewarding in itself. We are going to go harder, we are going to work harder these next weeks.”

Ever since last year the Blue Raiders have hoped to get back to states and try and finish high at states.

“Since last year at fall states, we have been thinking about this,” Maggie Sullivan said. “We knew we put everything out on the mat.”
