EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL: EDISON SUFFERS FIRST LOSS AT UNATEGO (7 PHOTOS) (2025-10-18)

UNATEGO — In a matchup of state-ranked teams, the Edison football team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday, 36-14 at Unatego/Franklin/GMU.

Edison came into the game 5-0 and ranked third in the state and Unatego/Franklin/Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton was 5-1 and ranked seventh in the state.

Unatego jumped out to a 24-0 lead at the half on their way to the win and they led 30-0 ion the third quarter.

Jack Hourihan had three passing and two rushing scores for Unatego.

Hourihan ran for a 21-yard score at 4:31 of the opening quarter and he had the two-point run. Hourihan threw a 49-yard touchdown at 9:47 of the second quarter and he had a five-yard scoring run at 4:47 with him adding a two-point run. Hourihan threw a 19-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Edison’s Marcquis Bradley Jr. recovered a fumble and raced into the end zone for the first Edison score.

Hourihan threw a 25-yard touchdown at 11:50 of the fourth quarter and Ze’Quan Mosley of Edison caught a 15-yard touchdown from Jace Schiller with 7:51 left in the game.

Schiller was 10-for-23 for 70 yards and a score and he ran for 57 yards on 14 carries, while Greg Golden ran for 15 yards on six carries.

Bradley Jr. had two catches for 36 yards, Mosley had two grabs for 25 yards and Paxton Hoover had a catch.

Bradley Jr. had six tackles and a fumble recovery and Niko Cheplick had six tackles. Mosley had six tackles and Golden had four tackles.

Hoover had three tackles and a fumble recovery and had a pass defensed.

Hourihan threw for 120 yards and three scores and ran for 33 yards in the game for Unatego.
