MARATHON — Corning went 1-2 on their way to the large-school title at the Marathon Invitational on Saturday.

Corning had a team score of 32, Horseheads was next at 51.

Bryce Hammond won in 16:41.8 followed by Nicholas Ferratella in 16:42.6. Nicholas Kowal of Horseheads was fourth in 16:46.6 and Horseheads’ Gavin Hornsby was 10th in 17:34.60.

Sebastian Boutwell of Corning was 11th in 17:39.70 with Corning’s Ashtyn Stark 13th in 17:48.60 followed by teammate Graham Wightman in 18:01.10, Horseheads’ Max Williams (18:01.90) and Allen Wetmore (18:08.70) and Gavin Meier of Notre Dame (18:16.30).

Elijah Sonner of Corning was 20th in 18:28.10 followed by teammate Andrew Miller (18:36.70) and Horseheads’ Dominick Marino (18:41.90).

Corning’s Samuel Kirk was 25th in 18:51.70 and Luke Dordoni of Horseheads was 32nd in 19:15.10 with teammate Joseph Juan 35th in 19:24.30. Finn Van Buskirk of Horseheads was 52nd in 20:02.80 with teammate Abdiel Basabakwinshi 54th in 20:14.40. Notre Dame’s Cameron Kraft was 67th in 21:09.20 and teammate Burke Hilgindorf was 72nd in 21:32.10. Teammate Robert Sharp was 78th in 23:12.50.

In the boys’ unseeded race Elmira won at 97 points with Horseheads seventh at 185.

Elmira’s James Lovell was ninth in 18:16 and teammate Jadon Lagonegro was 17th in 19:12 followed by teammate Gianni Page in 19:18.

Joshua Knapp of Horseheads was 39th in 20:33 and teammate Tanner Findley was 44th in 20:43 followed by teammate Nick Fears (20:45) and Elmira’s Aaron Skinkle (20:47).

Benjamin Hinman of Elmira was 52nd in 20:53 while teammate Wally Ferriter was 61st in 21:09. Horseheads’ RJ Bigelow was 65th in 21:23. Tanner Knapp was 70th in 21:36 and Notre DAme’s Trevor Agan was 120th in 24:26. Johnny Piet of Notre Dame was 136th in 25:24 and teammate Sergio Condo was 141st in 26:49.

In the girls’ seeded race Corning won at 50 followed by Owego (67) and Ithaca (71).

Olivia Martinec of Corning won at 19:30.90 while teammate Kaetland Dininny was fifth in 20:38.30 and Abigail Wagner was eighth in 21:04.40. Lillian Deuerlein was 19th in 22:46.80 with Kaitlyn Lee 21st in 23:06.50. Alisyn Conway was 29th in 24:04 followed by Emma Pfleegor in 24:44.60.

In the girls’ unseeded race Elmira was fifth at 126. Delhi-South Kortright won at 64.

Madelyn Wise of Elmira was sixth in 22:02.70 and teammate Molly Doran was 11th in 22:39.50, while Aubrey Stewart was 41st in 25:25.20. Amber Mahmoud was 51st in 26:09.60 and Paityn Walburn was 70th in 27:15.90 while Mallory Duffy was 72d in 27:27.40. Lylia Colunio of Notre Dame was 74th in 27:43.90. Lillian Moore of Notre Dame was 116th in 36:03.20.

For the JV boys Corning won at 18 points with Horseheads fourth at 109.

Corning had six of the top seven spots. Connor Harrington won at 18:50.80 followed by Isaac Ballard (19:13.50). Keith Huff was fourth at 19:49.30 followed by Britton Chapman (19:56.90), Thomas VanSlyke (20:01.70) and Ryan Madden (20:10). Dexter Bell of Horseheads was 10th at 20:24.70. Coleton Ketchum of Corning was 14th at 20:45.80.

Bjorn Suarez of Corning was 17th in 20:50.80 followed by teammates Jax Adams (20:51.70), Reed Fuchs (20:51.80), Gavin Bierwiler (20:54.30), Brock Allington (21:03.90) and Sylas Ruza (21:12.50).

Nolan Miller of Horseheads was 26th at 21:23.60 with teammate Pierce Terwilliger 30th at 21:33.20. John Shanchuk of Corning was 37th in 22:04.40 and Carver Robbins of Horseheads was 39th in 22:10.90 followed by Corning’s Evan Soccio (22:15.70). Elmira’s Garrett Palmieri (22:59.40).

Corning’s Colin Zimmerman of Corning was 49th in 23:06.70 followed by teammates William McDonnell (23:14.20) and Dwayne Gardiner (23:22.20), Elmira’s Adam Loftus (23:23.80) and Tristan Pratt of Corning (23:36.70). Horseheads’ Michael Christmas was 59th in 23:52.30 followed by teammate Dhruv Shrisudersan (23:58.20). Horseheads’ Noah Walton was 63rd in 24:11.20. Wyatt Bloodsmith of Corning was 66th in 24:47.20 with Horseheads’ Alexander Howard 69th in 24:50.50 followed by Corning’s Maxwell Keegan (24:59.90). Elmira’s Karson Combs was 74th in 25:22.40. Chase Barnstead of Horseheads was 81st in 26:22 followed by Elmira’s Triton Conklin in 26:23.60. Alex Nichols of Corning was 97th in 32:45.30 followed by Horseheads’ Kellen McDonnell (33:03.80).

Corning’s Uma Parma Tree Thutaram won the girls’ JV race in 22:57.30 with Macailyn York of Corning fourth at 25:48.10 and teammate Aubrey Miller was seventh at 26:53.60 while teammate Caroline Welch was ninth in 27:22.60.

In the modified boys’ large-school race Corning won at 20 points, followed by Ithaca (55). Horseheads was fourth at 139

Corning’s Olivia Cilip won at 8:58 followed by Cooper Adriance (9:03.1). Corning’s Nathaniel Carlton was fourth at 9:17.6 followed by teammate Raphael Boutwell (9:29). Pascal Boutwell was eighth in 9:32.8 followed by Horseheads’ Noah Cloke (9:33.2), Elmira’s Noah Wilbur (9:36.2) and Corning’s Everett Hunter (9:36.6). Corning’s Braedyn Copp was 14th at 9:55.5. Corning’s Mark Miller was 20th in 10:06.6 and teammate Chase Reed was 22nd in 10:12. Corning’s Karl Dewald was 31st in 10:34.1 and Mason Dispense of Horseheads was 34th in 10:40.7. Horseheads’ Gavin Harmer was 37th in 10:50.3 followed by teammate Max Brown (10:50.6) and Elmira’s Emry Bahantka (10:50.9) and Alexander Barletta (10:51.3). Corning’s Ben Vang was 47th in 11:03. And Owen Lilly of Corning was 52nd in 11:12.6. Elmira’s London Stein was 60th in 11:21.7 and Horseheads’ Andrew Snedecor was 67th in 11:38.1 while Corning’s Reis Smith was 69th in 11:38.5. Simon Blouin of Corning was 72nd in 11:44.6 and Anthony Sullivan of Horseheads was 78th in 12:04.3. Corning’s Michael Millhollen was 93rd in 12:52.6. Ben Stumper of Corning was 106th in 13:33.6 and Horseheads’ Carson Bullers was 115th in 14:29.6.

In the modified small-school race Eli Baxter of Notre Dame was 57th in 12:38.1.

Corning won the girls’ modified large-school race at 20 points followed by Ithaca at 63 and Elmira was fifth at 115.

Corning’s Arabella Clarke was second in 10:01.5 followed by teammates Kylan Wright (10:01.9), Finley Bloor (10:10.7), Vanessa Topielec (10:11.4), Eleanor Robson (10:15.8) and Elmira’s Addie Fenton (10:16.6).

Corning’s Mia Owens was 13th in 11:04.1 and teammate Ella Brimmer was 18th in 11:16.5. Corning’s Violet Miller was 23rd in 11:36.5 followed by teammate Jaclyn Lee (11:37.6). Corning’s Sophia Bender was 28th in 11:45.1 and Elmira’s Annalyse Ferriter was 30th in 11:47.9. Corning’s Sierra Sabol was 32nd in 11:54.4 followed by teammate Kathryn Akerelrea (11:54.7). Elmira’s Olivia Ward was 39th in 12:24.3. Elmira’s Ellyana Hill was 41st in 12:24.9 followed by teammate Olivia Palmer (12:25.9) and Corning’s Eliana Swanson (12:28.1). Corning’s Amarah Kinsey was 48th in 12:35.3 and teammate Kaitlyn Williams was 56th in 13:04.3. Reagan Knapp of Corning was 60th in 13:37.6 while Elmira’s Arianna Walburn was 64th in 13:54.2 followed by teammate Stella Loftus (13:55.8). Corning’s Aleahya Haynes was 68th in 14:16.4 and Horseheads’ Alexia Bednarski was 71st in 14:56.3 and Elmira’s Aleah Mattei was 75th in 16:34.6.

Kaylin Moore of Notre Dame was 20th in the modified small-school race in 11:59.9.
