STAC VOLLEYBALL: CORNING EDGES ITHACA IN FIVE SETS (2025-10-02)

CORNING — The Corning Hawks volleyball team won a five-set showdown with Ithaca on Thursday night, 3-2.

After Ithaca won the first set 25-22, Corning won 25-12, 25-22. Ithaca won the fourth set 25-18 and Corning won the final set 15-13.

Sam Molingou had 15 kills and five blocks for Corning and Paisley Emmick had 34 assists, 16 digs and two points.

Jillian Wood had 14 points, seven aces, seven kills, a block and 18 digs and Char Starns had seven kills, seven blocks and a dig, while Evie Starns had six points, two aces, 10 kills, an assist and seven digs.

Corning won the JV match 25-16, 25-18, 19-25.

Sophie Schoonover had five kills, six digs, three aces and eight points for Corning and Reagan Terwilliger had seven kills, two blocks and eight digs, with two aces and four points.

Mia Madden had 25 digs, two aces and eight points and Peyton Freelove had nine assists, four digs, an ace and two points.
