STAC BOYS' SOCCER: STATE-RANKED ELMIRA TOPS VESTAL (2025-09-30)
Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA — Dom Capilli had two goals as the Elmira boys’ soccer team picked up a 4-1 win over Vestal on Tuesday night.
Capilli scored the first goal in the opening minute and Luca Capilli scored in the 19th minutes.
Dom Capilli scored again in the 68th minute and Brody Hamilton scored in the 73rd minute.
Nolan Kennedy, Chase Smith and Dom Capilli all had assists in the game.
Elmira moves to 9-1-1 on the year and is ranked seventh in the Class AAA state rankings.
Talon Lyon scored the Vestal goal.
“We put together a complete match today,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “The boys came out ready to play, acknowledging the importance of the match and the quality of the opponent. Vestal is consistently one of the best programs in the state. We knew it would take an outstanding effort to get the result we wanted.
“I’m proud of the boys as It was a complete team effort today. As a team, we preach unified play as a whole and every player that stepped on the pitch today was able to contribute to that theme of play.”
