Southern Tier Sports Report
ENDICOTT — With just five seconds in overtime, the Corning Hawks drew a penalty kick and Hayden Robertson converted in a 2-1 win over Union-Endicott.

Teagan Walsh was taken down in the box with five seconds in overtime leading to the Robertson goal.

Walsh scored on a breakaway for the first goal of the game, before the Tigers tied things up which led to overtime.

“It was a hard-fought battle on both sides,” Corning coach Julie Pierce said. “U-E had the majority of play in the first 20 minutes, but we adjusted well, especially in the second half.”

Corning had nine shots and U-E had 13 shots in the game.

“Karina Swarthout continues to improve in goal, she had 12 saves,” Pierce said. “Keana Mann was relentless in the second half, and Kenna Kempton played a pivotal role in the win.”
