IAC GIRLS' SOCCER: EDISON GETS PAIR OF GOALS FROM LASKO AS THEY TIE LANSING (2025-09-25)
Southern Tier Sports ReportELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Edison girls’ soccer team got a pair of goals from Hannah Lasko as they tied Lansing 2-2 on Thursday.
Lasko had the two goals in a game that was 1-1 at the half. Eliza Crandall and Paige Vaughn each had assists for the Spartans.
Lansing took the lead 15 minutes into the game, but Edison answered 10 minutes later when Hannah Lasko finished a long throw-in from Paige Vaughn. 10 minutes into the second half, Hannah Lasko had a break-away goal off a through pass from Eliza Crandall. Lansing continued to pick up the offensive pressure, and found the equalizer with nine minutes remaining in the game off a free kick. The game was called at the end of regulation due to darkness.
Edison coach Kevin Weber was happy with the way his team played in the game.
“Incredibly proud of this group tonight,” Weber said. “Coming off a very difficult game Tuesday, having three starters out due to injury and multiple players pushing through their own strains or knocks, the girls never stopped working for one another.
“Lansing is a very well coached, and top-class program, so for our young group to be able to match play with them for the full 80 minutes is a testament to the work we have been putting in, and the belief they are finding in themselves to be able to compete.”
