EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL: EDISON DOMINANT IN VICTORY OVER LANSING (24 PHOTOS) (2025-09-20) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA HEIGHTS — After a defensive battle in week one, the Edison football team dominated in all aspects of the game on Saturday, topping Lansing 50-7.
“It was a great game on both sides of the ball,” Edison coach Kyle Erickson said. “We worked hard for four quarters and received the W we were looking for. Lansing is a very tough team and came out and scored first. We came out and fought back.
“It was a hard-fought game. Enjoy the win for the weekend and then on to Newfield.”
Edison entered the game ranked sixth in the state in Eight-man football.
Down 7-0, the Spartans scored the next 50 points.
Greg Golden had a first-quarter score from two-yards out. Ze’Quan Mosley scored on a two-yard run and Golden scored on a nine-yard run.
In the third quarter Jace Schiller scored on an eight-yard run and Golden had a six-yard scoring run. Schiller scored on a 33-yard run and Mark Cornacchio scored on a 27-yard run.
Golden had three two-point runs and Bradley Jr. had a two-point run.
Golden ran for 174 yards and three scores on 23 carries and he had a tackle for a loss, a forced fumble and eight tackles.
Nico Cheplick had three tackles and 63 receiving yards and Schiller threw for three yards and had eight carries for 109 yards. He had a tackle and he scored two times in the game.
Bradley Jr. had five tackles and ran for 11 yards.
Cornacchio ran for 27 yards on one carry and had a touchdown and two tackles on defense.
Daniel Stern Jr. had two tackles and Mosley had five tackles, five tackles for a loss, two sacks and a forced fumble and he ran for seven yards with a touchdown.
Aiden Quackenbush had two tackles and a tackle for a loss, Michael Grow had a tackle and Paxton Hoover had five tackles and two tackles for a loss. ———— PHOTOS BY BRIAN FEES
