IAC GIRLS' SOCCER: CRANDALL SCORES, BUT EDISON FALLS TO WG (2025-09-15)
Southern Tier Sports ReportWATKINS GLEN — Eliza Crandall had a goal, but the Edison girls’ soccer team fell at Watkins Glen, 7-1.
It was 3-0 at the half and Watkins Glen had 18 shots and six corners in the game.
Peyton Gibbs had the Spartans assist in the game.
Ava Kelly, Michaela Wheaton and Olivia King all had two goals for Watkins Glen.
“After a disappointing beginning to the game, we cleaned up some of the mental mistakes we were making and were able to find better sustained positive moments on the ball throughout the second half,” Edison coach Kevin Weber said. “We sill need to continue to work on our ability to hold possession, and finding our attacking rhythm and forward movement as a group.
“As is always the case with this group of girls, I’m very proud of the effort tonight. Watkins Glen is a top class team, but we continued to battle until the end.”
