PROFESSIONAL LACROSSE: CORNING'S MCNANEY FIRST ROOKIE IN PLL HISTORY TO EARN GOALIE OF YEAR HONORS; FALLS IN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP (2025-09-14)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCorning native Logan McNaney is officially the first rookie in PLL history to earn goalie of the year honors.
McNaney saw his magical season on the field end in a loss in the league title game, but he also earned the big accolades off the field.
McNaney, a Maryland graduate, played in the Premier Lacrosse League Championship, with Denver being edged 14-13 to the New York Atlas. McNaney had 11 saves in goal.
Cornell graduate Jeff Teat was MVP for the Atlas, with three goals and three assists in the game.
McNaney is the first rookie to be named the league’s top goalie, earning the honor after recording 109 saves this year with a 58.3% save percentage.
NcNaney was an All-American at Maryland, winning the 2022 NCAA Championship, and being named tournament MVP. He is the schools’ all-time saves leader in goal.
He was drafted 11th overall by Denver in this year’s PLL Draft.
