STAC BOYS' SOCCER: HANRAHAN, EXPRESS GET 5TH SHUTOUT, BLANK HORSEHEADS (2025-09-13)

HORSEHEADS — The Elmira Express got their fifth shutout of the season, blanking Horseheads 2-0 on Saturday.

Kaelan Brenen-Buseck and Hayden Rolls had the Elmira goals and Chase Smith and Dom Capilli had the assists.

Sean Hanrahan had his fifth clean sheet of the season in goal.

“Horseheads has a young squad, but they play with good intensity for each other,” Elmira coach Derek Hamilton said. “We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy match going in. Coach Mucci always has his team organized and ready to play.

“I thought we did a nice job of controllign the midfield and creating scoring opportunities. If we continue to do that, as well as defend at a high level like we have been, we will be a tough matchup for anyone.”

Teagan Sullivan had 10 saves for Horseheads and Hanrahan had five for Elmira/

“It was a hard fought battle by both teams,” Horseheads coach Mark Mucci said.
