STAC BOYS' SOCCER: CORNING EDGED BY ITHACA, 2-1 (2025-09-13)
Southern Tier Sports ReportITHACA — The Corning boys’ soccer team was edged on the road at Ithaca on Saturday, 2-1.
“We continue to win play between the boxes,” Corning coach Chad Freelove said. “A couple communication breakdowns. We continue to work each day at training sessions. We are so close to putting it all together. Ithaca is always a tough place to win. We turn around and play them again in Corning in a week and a half.”
Corning had 10 shots and two corners and Ithaca had seven shots and a corner.
Charlie Warner had the Hawks goal and Landyn Proudfoot had the assist.
Charles Leyden-Githler and Timo Weinberger each had goals for Ithaca.
Corning hosts Elmira on Tuesday.
