Troy senior QB Mason Smith accounted for six touchdowns to help the Trojans to a big win, while the Waverly 200-yard medley relay team broke several records at the Wolverine Invitational. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Sept. 6.

TROY'S SMITH NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Smith rushed for four TDs and threw for two more to lead the Trojans to a 42-13 win over South Williamsport.

Smith rushed for 241 yards on 13 carries, and completed 3 of 5 passes for 58 yards.

Smith scored on runs of 88, 57, 3 and 33 yards, and threw TD passes of 36 and 19 yards.

Honorable Mentions: Athens' Connor Davidson (football), SVEC's Logan Aman (football), Wellsboro's Griffin Morral (football), and Edison's Nate Perez (soccer).

WAVERLY'S 200-YARD MEDLEY RELAY NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
The foursome of seniors Mira Kittle and Olivia Cheresnowsky, and freshmen Natalie Steck and Megan Atanasoff broke the pool and meet record, as well as lowering their school record by 3 seconds in winning the 200-yard medley relay at the Wolverine Swimming & Diving Invitational. It's also the fifth-fastest time ever posted in Section IV in the event.

Kittle and Atanasoff also swam on the 400-yard freestyle relay that broke the pool, meet, and school records. Atanasoff and Cheresnowsky swam on the 200-yard freestyle that recorded a first-place finish.

Kittle won the 50-yard freestyle with a new meet record, and also won the 100-yard butterfly in a new school record time.

Cheresnowsky won the 100-yard backstroke, and Steck placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Honorable Mentions: Candor's Malley Heidl (volleyball), Troy's Aryana Andrus and Brenna Jackson (volleyball), NP-M's Brooke Wilcox (soccer), and Horseheads' Kailey McCormick (volleyball).
