LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: BIG FLATS MAJORS REACH TWO STRAIGHT TO REACH SECTIONAL FINAL (2025-07-14)
Southern Tier Sports ReportAfter losing their first game in sectional play, the Big Flats Majors all-stars won the next two and will now play in the championship game on Tuesday.
Big Flats fell to Lakeshore 9-4 in the first game Saturday. They beat Liverpool on Sunday 7-5 and came back on Monday and won 15-13 against Lakeshore to avenge their loss.
Next Big Flats plays Union-Endicott in the final. Union-Endicott is unbeaten and needs one win to win the title, while Big Flats needs to win twice to win the title.
In the win over Lakeshore on Monday Big Flats used eight runs in the second and three in the third and fourth to get the win.
Parker M had a 4-for-4 day with three runs scored and two RBI.
Gavin Brooks and Trevor Bonham each had three hits, with doubles and Ricky Graham, Nolan Ruhmel, Riley Goodwin, Matt Updyke and Gabe Charlanow had two hits each. Ruhmel had a triple and Maddox Monks had a double.
In the Liverpool win Big Flats jumped out to a 7-0 lead through three innings.
Graham, Goodwin and Brooks all had two hits, with Charlanow, Goodwin and Bonham hitting doubles.
In the loss to Lakeshore it was a seven-run fourth inning that was the difference.
Ruhmel, Goodwin and Ryan Kozemko had two hits each. Goodwin had four RBI and Graham had a double and scored two runs.
In 10u action Corning-Painted Post Gold went 1-2 at sectionals.
They dropped the first game 4-0 to Maine-Endwell, before coming back to beat Auburn 4-3. They had their tournament end with an 11-1 loss to FM.
