HORSEHEADS — The Horseheads Majors all-star team edged Elmira LPC 3-1 on Sunday to advance to the district title game.

Horseheads will play Big Flats in the title game. Big Flats beat Corning-Painted Post Little League 5-1 in the other semifinal.

The title game is 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Horseheads.

Carson Vieselmeyer struck out four in 4 1/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits in relief. Nate Blauvelt started and allowed three hits and a run with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.

Elijah Ham had two hits, with a double and three RBI. He had a two-run double in the opening inning as Horseheads led 2-0 after the top of the First. Elmira got a run in the bottom of the first, but Horseheads added a run in the fourth in the win.

Camden Crowley had a hit and scored a run and Aedan Manzer had a hit. Kaidan Rijo scored two runs in the game for Horseheads.

Brayden Andrews had two hits, with a triple and a run scored for Elmira and Boog Marshburn had a hit and an RBI, while Juju Milo had a hit and Oli Hyde had a double.

Gabe Padgett struck out nine in 4 1/3 innings of four-hit ball and Milo struck out one in 1 2/3 perfect innings of relief.

For Big Flats they scored four runs in the first on their way to the win.

Nolan Ruhmel and Trevor Bonham each had two hits. Ruhmel had two doubles and a run scored and Bonham had a double, two RBI and a run scored, while Ricky Graham had a hit and scored a run and Matt Updyke had a hit and two RBI.

Riley Godwin and Gavin Brooks each scored runs and Ryan Kozemko had an RBI.

Godwin struck out seven in three shutout innings, allowing two hits. Maddox Monks struck out two in 2 1/3 innings of two-hit relief and Graham got the final two outs.

Mickey P pitched four innings in relief for Corning, allowing a run on three hits with five strikeouts and Blake Windows threw two innings of no-hit ball, striking out two.

P also had a double and scored a run and Cohen had two hits, while Scott P and Nick R each had hits.
