LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: BIG FLATS MAJORS FINISHES UNBEATEN IN POOL PLAY AS THEY TOP HORSEHEADS 2-0 (24 PHOTOS) (2025-06-30) Southern Tier Sports Report BIG FLATS — The Big Flats Majors Little League all-star team picked up a 2-0 win over Horseheads on Monday to wrap up the top seed in the District 6 playoffs.
Big Flats finishes pool play with a perfect record and will be the top seed. Horseheads ends up 3-2 and will be the second seed.
The game cruised along through the first two innings with both pitchers dominating on the mound.
In the third Big Flats got a home run to left from Maddox Monks to put them up 1-0 and that’s all pitcher Riley Godwin would need.
Godwin struck out 14 and allowed just two hits in the game.
Trevor Bonham had a double in the sixth inning and came around to score the other Big Flats run.
Ryan Kozemko had two hits and Godwin, Nolan Ruhmel, Bonham, Gavin Brooks, Matt Updike, Parker Moshier and Monks had hits in the game.
Haden McKinney went four innings for Horseheads, allowing just four hits and one run, striking out one. Carson Vieselmeyerworked two innings, striking out three and allowing one run.
Kiadan Rijo had both Horseheads hits and was stranded at third in the opening inning, and was thrown out at third later in the game.
