CPP TRAP AND SKEET TEAMS FIND SUCCESS AT STATES (24 PHOTOS) (2025-06-27)
Southern Tier Sports ReportThe Corning Painted Post Trap and Skeet Club had a strong showing at the New York State High School Trap Tournament and the skeet tournament.
In trap CPP finished second in the state for the 1A class with a score of 456 out of 500 targets. Tully Fratarcangelo received the high gun award for out-shooting everyone with a score of 99 out of 100. On Friday he outshot about 685 other shooters, but he also held the high score of the weekend, which means he outshot roughly 1,863 other shooters.
Last year Gracee Work was the first student to have ever get the high gun award for any division and Tully this year was the first to ever get it for the male division.
Fratarcangelo was able to finish his shooting and get back to Corning in time for lacrosse practice and then went and scored four goals in the regional game the next day. A day later he was in Jamesville at 9 a.m. to shoot skeet with Work. At the skeet tournament on Sunday he scored a 97/100 getting second place behind a score of 98/100. Work got the high gun for varsity girls with a score of 81/100 targets, ranking 12 overall at the skeet tournament, and being the only female on the leaderboard.
