SOUTHPORT — Notre Dame recently held their sports awards, with Makenna Keough, Gabe Patterson and Luke Richards earning athlete of the year honors.

Keough is the Sal and Elizabeth Salafia Female Athlete of the Year. She also won the Ernie Davis Scholarship which was presented to her at the awards ceremony.

The Ray Gavin Male Athletes of the year were Patterson and Richards.

Jackson Potter was the Male Scholar Athlete and Isabella Mashewske is the Katie Cain Female Scholar Athlete of the year.

Joe Picco is the Mike D’Aloisio coach of the year and Sebastian Capriotti is the Fran Essen Most Improved Male Athlete, while Zoey McClelland is the Steve Bednarek Most Improved Female Athlete of the Year.

Dylan Mattoon and Leah O’Connell are the Joel Andrew Stephens Five ‘C’ Award winners and Molly O’Connell and Caleb White are the Charles L. Bradley Memorial Award winners.

Pat McCarthy and Maggie Moore are the John and Virginia Mirando Memorial Award winners.

Shannon Craig is the Pat Quinn Courage and Commitment Award winner and Sue O’Connell is the Fr. Michael Reagan Accomplishment Award.

Ryan Mattoon is the Francis ‘Junker’ Johnston Contribution Award winner.

Payton Sutryk and Kalysta DeMark are the girls’ basketball MVP’s, Leah O’Connell is the Mike Tobin most improved player and Jhamariah Maxwell is the coaches’ award winner.

Patterson is the boys’ basketball MVP and Rocco Sayers is the Mike Tobin most improved, while Henry O’Toole is the Wayne Moschetti Memorial Award winner and Max O’Connor is the coaches’ award winner.

The modified football E.J. Brewer Marine Award Detachment Award goes to Michael Sutryk and the Peter Mehalick Courage Award goes to Luka Clark, while Bradly Brown is the Joe Dwyer Lineman of the Year and Morgan One is the Biagio A. Maio Defensive Lineman Award winner.

Keough is the indoor track MVP and Evan Parker is most improved, while McClelland is the coaches’ award winner.

Gavin Meier is the cross country MVP, Trevor Agan is most improved and Marta Albaladejo is the coaches’ winner.

Francisco Serrano Sostres is tennis MVP, Fatuomata Coulibaly is the most improved and Bunny Baldwin and Alex Shultz are coaches’ winners.

MK Young is girls’ soccer MVP and Ellie Green is the Delores ‘Dee’ Batterson Memorial Award winner, while Keough is the coaches’ award winner.

Patterson is boys’ soccer MVP, Matt Keough is the Delores ‘Dee’ Batterson Memorial Winner and Dylan Mattoon is the coaches’ award winner.

Ella Cain is swimming MVP and Sara Cupello is most improved, while Mashewske and Alexis Collins are coaches’ winners.

Potters and Jacob Steed are boys’ golf MVP and Liam Ward is the Jack Flynn Memorial Golf Award winner, while O’Toole is the coaches’ winner.

Evelyn Wheeler is girls’ golf award winner, Emma Steed is most improved and Sophie Sramek is the coaches’ winner.

Richards is the baseball MVP and Malachy Cain is the Robert Zeis Memorial Award Most Improved, while Anthony Barkley is the coaches’ award winner.

Danasia Thompkins is the softball MVP, Sadie Potter is the Robert Zeis Memorial Award winner and the Frank Gush Leadership & Integrity Award (coaches’ award) goes to Layla Sullivan.

The outdoor track MVP is Maggie Moore and Amanda Araujo Vascao is the most improved. The Molly Huddle Determination and Dedication Award winner is Makenna Keough and Matthew Keough is the Paul Margeson Phoenix Memorial Award winner, while Antonio Campanella is the coaches’ award winner.

Finn Schweizer is lacrosse MVP, Dylan Mattoon is the most improved and Dominic Caporiccio is the coaches’ award winner.
