LAPLANTE, RIPLEY, BENNETT EARN EDISON ATHLETE OF YEAR HONORS AT SCHOOL'S SPORTS AWARDS (2025-06-24)

Edison recently held their sports awards with Talon LaPlante earning male athlete of the year honors, while Kailey Ripley and Maycie Bennett shared the female athlete of the year honors.

For boys’ cross country the MVP was Jameson Duggan and Kaleb Podoliak was the Brad Sanford winner.

Mayla Falank won the girls’ cross country MVP and Olivia Vinsek was the Brad Sanford winner.

Hannah Lasko and Aurora Parło shared MVP honors for girls’ soccer and Kaylynn Darby was the Brad Sanford winner.

For football Zimear Young was the Brad Sanford winner and for fall cheerleading Nate Hazen was MVP while Caitlin Buchanan was the Brad Sanford winner.

Bennett and Ripley were the volleyball MVP’s and Mali Huffner was the Brad Sanford winner.

For boys’ basketball LaPlante and Jaden Bennett were MVP and Mason Mawhir was the Brad Sanford winner.

Huffner was the girls’ basketball MVP and Charlee Stroman and Ripley were Brad Sanford winners.

For winter cheerleading Katrina Cook is the MVP and Luke Cady is the Brad Sanford winner.

Duggan is the boys’ winter track MVP and Carson Balash is the Brad Sanford winner. Lasko is the winter track girls’ MVP and Sabou Diakite is the Brad Sanford winner.

Parlo is the girls’ bowling MVP and Reagan Peris is the Brad Sanford winner and Zackary Crown is boys’ bowl MVP, while Jared Barber is the Brad Sanford winner.

Greg Golden and Caden Southard are the wrestling MVP’s and Jace Schiller and Paxton Hoover are the Brad Sanford winners.

LaPlante and Auggie Ector are the boys’ track MVP’s and Zachary Sternfels is the Brad Sanford winner.

Rosie Wheeler and Tayler Burdick are the Brad Sanford winners for softball and Lasko is the girls’ track MVP, while Cassandra Osgood is the Brad Sanford winner.

Kaitlyn King and Joe Paul are the tennis Brad Sanford winners.

Dylan Beam and Andrew Slaven are baseball MVP’s and Cayden Collier is the Brad Sanford winner.

The Miehcel Wiita Cheerleading Award winners are Allyson Balash in the fall and Addy Shilling in the winter.

The football outstanding lineman winner is Jaden Bennett.

The senior football awards go to Slaven, Mason Mawhir, Reyes McAtee, Bennett, Zachary Piper, Cullen Mawhir, LaPlante and Young.

Garrett Davis is recognized with the senior tennis award and the senior softball awards go to Ripley, Maycie Bennett, Emily Aiello, Stroman and Bella Moffe.
