STAC TRACK AND FIELD: AREA ATHLETES EARN SPOTS ON CONFERENCE, DIVISION ALL-STAR TEAMS (2025-06-23)
Southern Tier Sports ReportA number of local athletes earned all-conference and all-division honors for the STAC Conference.
The all-conference boys’ team includes Corning’s Bryce Hammond in the 800 and the West all-division team has Elmira’s DJ Coprew (100) and Khiden Swanger (200); Corning’s Ethan Wentzel (110 hurdles) and Horseheads’ Connor Trimber (triple jump). Elmira’s Darien Harris (high jump) and Horseheads’ Calvin Cragle (shot put) are on the team with Corning’s Jacob Blencowe (discus).
Horseheads’ 4x100 relay of Marco Cipoola, Baraka Schmidt, Liam Morrisey and Harrison Hirshman are on the team with Elmira’s 4x800 relay of Noah Rios, Garrett Palmieri, Peyton Steele and Nicholas Shellenberger.
For the girls Corning’s Cella McLaughlin is all-conference in the 200, 100 hurdles and long jump. Horseheads’ Alexus Borek is all-conference in the 400 hurdles.
The West division team includes MyLynn Flint of Horseheads in the 100 and Emma Mase of Corning in the 200. Corning’s Laiana Gardner (400), Elianna Schneider (800) and Olivia Martinec (1500) are on the team with Elmira’s Madelyn Wise (3000). Erica Bancroft of Horseheads (100 hurdles) and Amanda McEwen of Corning (400 hurdles and triple jump) are on the team.
Elmira’s Isadora Cyr (long jump) and teammate Selena Rollins of (high jump) are on the team.
Sophia Cimo of Corning is on the team in the shot put and discus and Corning’s Kaitlyn Lee is on with the steeplechase.
Elmira has the 400 relay (Azavyanna Morgan, Arrianna Jones, Naudia Inness and Serenity Rollins), 1600 relay (Selena Rollins, Jazae Watkins-White, Alexis Bristow and Cyr) and the 3200 relay (Wise, Millie Kiersten, Marriah Faucett and Molly Doran).
