NYSPHSAA BOYS' LACROSSE: CORNING FALLS TO NATION'S TOP RANKED PUBLIC SCHOOL IN STATE SEMIS (2026-06-11)

MIDDLETOWN — The season came to an end for the Corning boys’ lacrosse team against the top ranked public school in the nation, Half Hollow Hills, on Wednesday in the state semifinals, 18-8.

Half Hollow Hills is top ranked public school in the state rankings, and USA Lacrosse has them ranked as the top public school in the nation.

Anthony Raio, an All-American going to North Carolina, had five first half goals, including for of the first six for Half Hollow Hills, who got out to an early 6-0 lead.

Corning got within 11-5 in the first half, but Half Hollow Hills went on a five-goal flurry in one minute in 14 seconds to end the half up 16-5.

Corning ends the year 13-5, while Half Hollow Hills is now 22-0.

Dom DiNardo had two goals for Corning and James Freeman, Carter Proudfoot, Kohl Hogue, Clayton Smith, Joe Fucito and Dylan Brewster had goals in the game for the Hawks.

Nick Hughes and Ryan Chung each had hat tricks for Half Hollow Hills.
