Southern Tier Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — The Edison softball team tied the game in the third inning, but a four-run fourth was the difference as the Spartans fell to Susquehanna Valley 10-5 in the Section IV, Class B final.
Both teams scored three in the first, before Susquehanna Valley had two runs in the second to go up 5-3
Edison got two runs in the third to tie things, before the Sabres scored four in the fourth and a run in the sixth.
Kailey Ripley was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored and Rosie Wheeler had a double and an RBI.
Aurora Parlo and Maycie Bennett each had hits and scored runs and Charlee Stroman scored a run.
Wheeler got two outs and struck out one and Parlo struck out four in 5 1/3 innings.
Susquehanna Valley had 10 hits, nine doubles, in the game.
