VESTAL — The Horseheads girls’ lacrosse team struck first, but Vestal answered as the Golden Bears topped the Blue Raiders 7-6 in the Section IV, Class B championship on Thursday.

Horseheads scored first, but Vestal responded with four of the next five goals to lead 4-2 after three quarters.

Mackenzie Grover and Lauren Kozemko scored late goals for Horseheads to get them within a goal, but that’s as close as things got.

Kozemko had two goals and Grover, CarLynn Sindlinger, Anna Lowe and Lexi Lese had goals for the Blue Raiders.

Boston University commit Alley Crowley had five goals for Vestal. Meredith Ryan and Tedessa DiRenzo had goals for the Golden Bears.
