SECTION 4 TRACK AND FIELD: EDISON'S LAPLANTE 2ND IN 2 EVENTS, LASKO TOP 5 IN THREE EVENTS AT CLASS C MEET (2025-05-29)

ONEONTA — The Edison boys took seventh and girls finished ninth at the Section IV, Class C Championships on Thursday.

The boys had a team score of 26, with Lansing winning at 134. For the girls Edison was at 21 with Oneonta winning at 134.5.

Olivia Vinsek was seventh in the 3000 in 15:34.83 and Carson Balash was 10th in the 3200 in 12:34.82.

Edison was seventh in the girls’ 1600 relay in 4:52.03. The boys finished eighth in 3:48.14.

Talon LaPlante finished second in the shot put at 47-feet, 1/2-inches.

LaPlante was second in the discus at 131-feet, 7-inches and Jameson Duggan was second in the 3000 steeplechase in 11:09.83.

Edison took sixth in the girls’ 3200 relay in 12:42.37 with the boys sixth in 9:08.83.

Zimear Young was ninth in the boys’ 100 in 12.12.

Hannah Lasko was fifth in the girls’ 100 in 13.50.

Mayla Falank was fourth in the 1500 in 5:41.79. Edison’s girls were eighth in the 4x100 relay in 59.54 with the boys sixth in 47.73.

Lasko was second in the 400 in 59.29. She broke the school record in the event. The old mark was 59.8, set in 1998.

Augustus Ector was eighth in the 400 hurdles in 1:03.77 with Brenden Smith 10th in 1:07.81.

Lasko was third in the 200 in 26.74 and Young was seventh in the boys’ 200 in 24.36.
