SECTION 4 SOFTBALL: EDISON TOPS WINDSOR TO ADVANCE TO SECTIONAL SEMIS (24 PHOTOS) (2025-05-27) Southern Tier Sports Report ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Edison softball team is headed to the Section IV, Class B semifinals after a 10-4 win over Windsor on Tuesday.
Windsor struck first with a leadoff hit that came around to score in the opening inning.
Edison came right back with two in the second, four in the third, two in the fifth and two in the sixth. Windsor’s other three runs all came in the seventh inning.
Edison had nine hits in the game with Bella Moffe and Emily Aiello each notching two hits. Aiello scored two runs and Moffe had two RBI.
Rosie Wheeler and Carissa Cowan each had doubles in the game. Cowan had two RBI and two runs scored.
Aurora Parlo, Maycie Bennett and Kailey Ripley added hits in the game. Bennett scored a run and Ripley scored two runs.
Wheeler went the distance on the mound, striking out 11.
The Spartans are at Odessa-Montour/Watkins Glen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday in the semifinals. O-M/WG is the second seed and Edison is the third seed. ———— PHOTOS BY BRIAN FEES
