HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD: EDISON, ND EACH HAVE A WINNER ON DAY 2 OF IAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (15 PHOTOS) (2025-05-22)

NEWARK VALLEY — Edison and Notre Dame each had one winner on day two of the IAC track and field championships on Thursday.

Maggie Moore of Notre Dame won the shot put for her division at 28-feet, 6 3/4-inches.

Talon LaPlante won the discus at 131-feet, 8-inches.

In their division Edison’s boys were third with 59 points. Lansing won at 204.5 followed by Trumansburg at 179.5. Notre Dame was sixth with 17 points.

For the girls Notre Dame was fifth at 49 with Edison seventh at 38. Lansing won at 153.5, followed by Dryden at 102.5.

Makenna Keough was second in her division, and second overall, in the triple jump at 34-feet, 11 1/2-inches.

Gavin Meier of Notre Dame was second in his division in the 3200, fourth overall, in 10:58.03. Jameson Duggan was third in the division, sixth overall, in 11:09.26. Cameron Kraft was fifth in the division in 11:34.26.

Olivia Vinsek of Edison was sixth in her division in the 3000 in 15:33.97.

Matthew Keough was sixth in the division in the 800 in 2:15.24.

Hannah Lasko was second in the division in the 200 in 27.18, second overall as well. Trinity Riddick of Notre Dame was sixth in the division in 30.47.

In the 1600 relay for the girls Notre Dame was fourth in the division in 4:40.75 followed by Edison in 4:52.07. For the boys Edison was fourth in 3:53.27.

Antonio Campanella was third in the division in the high jump at 5-feet.

Zimear Young of Edison was sixth in the 200 in 25.02 in his division.

In th girls’ 400 relay Edison was fifth in the division in 1:02.47 and for the boys they were fourth in 49.77.

Marta Albaladejo Tejedor of Notre Dame was fifth in the division in the 400 hurdles in 1:16.52 and for the boys Augustus Ector of Edison was fourth in 1:02.59 with Brenden Smith of Edison sixth in 1:05.15.
