IAC BASEBALL: EDISON STARTS STRONG, BUT FALLS IN IAC TITLE GAME (23 PHOTOS) (2025-05-17)

Southern Tier Sports Report
WATKINS GLEN — The Edison baseball team got off to a strong start, but in the end they came up short against Trumansburg in the IAC title game.

Edison led 2-0 in the first inning as Nikko Cheplick singled home a run, and eventually scored on an error.

But, Trumansburg quickly answered back with four in the bottom of the first inning and they never trailed again on their way to the win.

Edison had a setback early in the game as starting pitcher Drew Slaven was injured hitting in the top of the first inning and had to leave the game, as Paxton Hoover and Zach Crown wound up with the pitching duties for the game.

Dylan Beam scored two of the Edison runs in the game with Cheplick scoring the other run. Cheplick had the only Edison hit in the game.

It is Trumansburg’s first IAC title since 2017.
