ELMIRA — The Elmira Express shutout Waverly for their second win in two nights as they clinched a spot in sectionals.

Elmira beat the Wolverines 6-0, with four runs in the fifth inning to break things open.

Logan Demember threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the game.

Logan Palmer had a home run and a double, with two RBI and two runs scored.

Jack Cavalier had a double, two RBI and a run scored and Owen Smith and Dom Ellis each had hits. Smith and Aedan Palmer had RBI and Ryan Matthews, Aedan Palmer and Noah Cain scored runs.

The previous night the Express beat Seton Catholic 19-3.

Cavalier worked two innings, allowing one hit and striking out one and Matthews worked four innings, allowing four hits, and striking out three.

Quinn Hanrahan was 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored and Aedan Palmer had a double, two RBI and two runs scored and Aidan Ranck had two hits, with a double, three RBI and a run scored.

Owen Smith was 3-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored.

Demember had a hit, two RBI and three runs scored and Cain had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored.

Ellis had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Cavalier and Logan Palmer scored runs.

Adrial Ellis, Matthews and Frankie D’Angelo had hits, with an RBI and a run scored each and Nolan Edwards scored a run.
