BINGHAMTON — The Horseheads softball team went 2-0 on the first day at the Mirabito Tournament, topping Fredonia 16-3 and Edison 10-2 at Greenlight Park.

Caitlin Yearick had four home runs on the day, Megan Wolf hit a grand slam and Grace Cronin had a home run.

Yearick was 2-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored against Fredonia.

Wolf was 3-for-3 with four runs, hitting two doubles.

Reagan Burge had three doubles and was 3-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored.

Aubrey Howe and Presely McInnis each had two hits in the game. Howe had two RBI and two runs scored and McInnis scored two runs.

Aubrey Maticic had a hit and two RBI and Chloe Perritt had a hit and an RBI.

Burge worked four innings, striking out five and Perritt worked a perfect inning with a strikeout.

Yearick was 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored, hitting two home runs against Edison.

Wolf hit a grand slam and scored two runs, driving in four. Croning had a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.

Perritt, Dylan Young and Howe all had hits in the game. Young scored two times.

Burge had an RBI and Briley Beach scored a run.

Perritt went the distance on the mound, striking out six.

The Blue Raiders take on Meehan High School at 9 a.m. Sunday in the semifinals.
