STAC BASEBALL: HORSEHEADS WINS BATTLE OF UNBEATENS OVER CORNING (24 PHOTOS) (2025-04-23)
Southern Tier Sports ReportCORNING — The Horseheads baseball team stayed unbeaten with a 7-3 win over Corning on Wednesday night.
It was a battle of unbeaten teams, with the two teams a combined 13-0 entering the game.
Scoreless into the third, Horseheads scored two in the third and two in the fourth, adding a run in the fifth and two in the seventh in the win.
Mason Holloway had two hits, with a double and a run scored and Keagan Monahan, Lyncoln Bennett and Cooper Ball all had two hits in the game. Ball had two RBI, Bennett had an RBI and Monahan had two RBI.
Micah Hays, Trevor Reidy and Patrick Laney had hits for the Blue Raiders. Laney had an RBI and a run scored.
Devin Sullivan scored three runs in the game and Josh Stout scored a run.
Holloway went the distance on the mound, striking out nine and walking none. He allowed three runs, one earned.
Connor Monroe and Elijah King had two hits each for Corning, with King driving in a run.
Kyler Miller, Ryan Price, Reilly Wells, Landen Speciale and Caden Barrett all had hits in the game. Miller had a double and scored a run, Price had an RBI and a run scored and Wells had an RBI, while Speciale scored a run.
Nolan Smith went 6 2/3 innings, striking out four for Corning and Price got the last out, striking out one.
